Signal dependency – GPS requires clear line-of-sight to satellites; tall buildings, tunnels, forests, or underground areas can weaken or block signals.
Accuracy issues – Atmospheric conditions, multipath effects (signal reflection from surfaces), and satellite geometry can reduce positioning accuracy.
Battery drain – GPS modules in smartphones and devices consume a lot of power when running continuously.

Weather impact – Heavy cloud cover, ionospheric disturbances, or solar storms can degrade performance.
Cost of augmentation – For applications that require high precision (aviation, surveying), additional correction systems (DGPS, RTK) are needed, which can be expensive.
Health & safety risks – Distracted driving or over-trusting GPS navigation can cause accidents.
Limited lifespan of satellites – Satellites require maintenance and replacement, which can lead to temporary coverage issues.
